Becky started Small Biz Survival in 2006 to share rural business and community building stories and ideas with other small town business people. She and her husband have a small cattle ranch and are lifelong entrepreneurs. Becky is an international speaker on small business and rural topics.
Erica, here’s one key difference: *no* sessions. I think it’s more of a retreat than a camp, and it will be fun!
At first I was like, “Huh?” but the more I read, the more I get it. Now that I recently subscribed to SBS through Google Reader, it will interesting to see how this develops.
You might have addressed this already, but how do you market a conference w/ no speakers and no agenda? It seems to me you’d need to use more verbiage in communications than usual just to explain the concept to people. There is certainly a lot on the site you set up already.
Mark, I’m glad you like the idea. I think we market it primarily by word of mouth. If you think it’s a great idea, you’ll tell others you would like to see there.

Wondering what is and is not allowed in the comments? Or how to get a nifty photo beside your name? Check our commenting policy. Use your real name, not a business name.

Howdy!
Glad you dropped in to the rural and small town business blog, established in 2006.
We want you to feel at home, so please take our guided tour.
Sounds like a BarCamp to me! http://barcamp.org
