Let me run this by you. You know anyone who could use a ghost networker? We all know that social networks are vital to any marketing plans. But there are people who have no clue how nor the time to do it effectively. So a ghost networker could pretend to be them and create online personas. PR departments do it for the corporations. Does the small business owner need help here?
Carl, this sounds like an interesting idea.
How would you go about getting the background to ghost them? A questionnaire? Online, interactive interview?
Fascinating!
I haven’t thought that much about it. But it would take a long interview – in person or over the phone. And it would take a lot of interaction with the client once you got started. I’m sure the ghost networker would get questions online he/she couldn’t answer. This wouldn’t be an easy job. But I think there are business owners who don’t understand social networking and who need help in the area. Throw in some reputation monitoring, you have a very valuable service.
BTW, I found a blog entry about TeachStreet, a web site that helps people find classes taught by local teachers. Not only does there seem to be a call for jumpstart consultants but a service to aggregate them.
One more thing about the ghost networker. It’s not an ideal solution because so much of the business owner’s personality will be lost. That personality can be an asset for many businesses. Maybe they need more of a coach or enabler.
