Help me with the Brag Basket

brag basketEach Friday, I open the brag basket as a fun place to give someone a pat on the back, brag, or promote yourself and your projects.

Last week, we heard from me, Rick Wolff, Chel Pixie (for Whitney Hoffman), Mark Hayward, Karen Putz, and Zane Safrit (for Paul Chaney and IBNMA).

This week, I once again need your help with cheering for each other. I’ll be at BlogWorld Expo, and only online sporadically. (Hey, I’m going to be talking to people, not stuck to the keyboard!) Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don’t need special permission or anything. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

And, hey, it’s talk like a pirate day, so feel free to swagger a bit!

  1. Yarrrr mateys! Today I want ye all you lubbers raise yer mugs an toast for 2-3 reasons – so listen up or I’ll have you swimming with the kraken in Davey Jones Locker!

First: take a swig an toast my two brilliant mates, Leah D. and Regan V. They’ve been doing a brilliant job on-site at a client where we’re redesigning an interface to put the company at the cutting edge of interaction. YARRR!

Second: Another toast to my brilliant kids who are surpassing all my expectations already this year in school, but even more amazingly in the arts. My eldest girl, who just turned 13, is now being asked to sing regularly and my 10 year old is starting to crank out nearly virtuoso performances at the piano. YARRR!!!

Third: Last but not least, maybe most impressive, raise your tankards and toast my brilliant wife who has just started a new business – *in addition* to: home-schooling 4 children, teaching at the co-op, and leading worship at church. She’s doing things she’s never done before and is not only going great guns and achieving out of the gate success, she’s shown determination and willingness to push into places that will make her a long term success story.

There ya have it Mateys! Cheers!

Second, I want to thank all of the supporters who have helped to get the word out about my new humanitarian initiative http://trainforhumanity.org. Your kindness and support mean more than you will ever know.

Finally, would like to mention that after @newmediajim followed me back yesterday, I began to think about the value and power of our indirect networks (e.g. followers of the people who are following you). If this subject interests you then please read, “What’s the Value of Your Indirect Network?” – http://tinyurl.com/3lgchc
