Every business has to write. Everything from websites to local ads. Guest author Denise McGill contributed an outstanding series of articles about writing at Small Biz Survival. It was such a great series, so practical, that I asked her to create an ebook of the series, so we could share it further.
Becky started Small Biz Survival in 2006 to share rural business and community building stories and ideas with other small town business people. She and her husband have a small cattle ranch and are lifelong entrepreneurs. Becky is an international speaker on small business and rural topics.
Writing clearly and concisely is a extrememly important in business writing. People spend so little time actually reading your stuff that you don’t want to have anything in there that breaks their attention span. The tip of “don’t make a customer read a sentence twice” is so true, they just won’t spend that kind of time.
Thanks for this,
Matt
Thanks, Matt. I agree! Seldom do we realize just ho much writing small biz owners have to do. It pays to improve your skills.
Thank you, Becky. I am always looking for great writing tips for my high school business students, and you have given some dynamite tips and examples.
