Share some good news

Every week, I open a new Brag Basket. It’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing. I started this so you can introduce yourself or share some good news about yourself or a friend. 

Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. We all cheer, and everyone feels great. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community. 

This particular basket is open from Jan 15-17, 2010.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post. You tell something great about your week, or you give plaudits to someone who did good stuff this week. Or you celebrate a terrific failure. It’s not an ad; it’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other!

  1. Okay, I’ve been given an opportunity to make a dress for a homecoming queen candidate and she wants my design. This is one way to get free adverstising. Yeah!!!

    This week, I’m bragging, too. Yesterday was our fourth anniversary at Small Biz Survival. Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who has read, contributed, made a comment, shared an article, or just cheered us on. We appreciate you!

  4. We’re in the final week of accepting applications for 2010 Top Small Company Workplaces, with Inc. Magazine, and we’ve surpassed our target at this stage for number of received applications — which is great because we can ensure that by the deadline next Friday, Jan. 22, we’ll have a great diversity of firms from which to judge which best turn employee engagement into industry trend-setting performance.

    I am especially happy here because I worked with our application vendor to improve the user experience over 2009, and an applicant emailed me today saying “Technically this was one of the best applications to fill out. It was very smooth and just enough questions to state our case but not redundant.” That certainly made my Friday!

  6. Popping in at the end of a productive week and weekend to say that, after months of procrastinating, I finally drafted the curriculum for an upcoming project. I felt amazingly good and relieved to get that task done; that feeling carried me through the whole week.

    Congrats to the others in the Brag Basket! And thanks to Becky for this place to brag. Bragging just a little feels so good!
