  1. I bought the toolkit “Tour of Empty Buildings.”
    With the encouragement and a terrific visit to our city from Deb Brown, who provided outstanding direction, we are ready to set-up our own “Tour of Empty Buildings.
    We have 10 Empty Buildings & 8 Vacant Lots in a 10 block section of Main Street.
    Our city of Eloy, Arizona has community planner has been a great partner in helping us along the way.
    We are setting up our tour next month, May 13th 8:00 a.m. Not to be meant as a brag, but it is a first step in bringing attention to Downtown Main Street in over 10 years.
    With much appreciation, I wish to thank the Becky & Deb for their ongoing Small Biz Survival Program.

  2. Here’s another great story that came in via email:

    “I am Carol Middick a retiree who returned home to Snyder, Ok. We have started a Save Our Town movement with goals of (1) supporting existing businesses and families and (2) to attract new ones. Our informal group has about 60 citizens involved, including high school students. We share leadership roles in our projects and at this time do not have officers but teams and team leaders.”

    Carol, I love this approach! You’re keeping it from becoming a group of old, over-organized, meeting-goers. You’re do-ers!
